HELEN BUNNY UYENO PERRY
Helen "Bunny" Uyeno Perry, 91, a passionate homemaker died at Castle Medical Center on April 28, 2013 surrounded by her family. The sixth of eleven children she was born on August 2, 1921 to Masaji Uyeno and Carrie Costa in Ookala, HI and grew up on Oahu. She lived most of her life in Aina Haina raising her family with her husband Elwin who was called by the Lord nearly 10 years ago after 61 years of marriage. Bunny was an avid gardener and accomplished cook, who loved to share her pecan crisps, mango chutney and chili pepper jelly with family and friends. Survived by 4 children Linda (John) O'Brien of Pacifica, California, Bonnie Galuteria of Kailua, Craig (Eileen) Perry of Aiea and Celeste (Alan) Krepack of Mill Valley, California. Calling her Grand- mommy were 11 grandchildren Kimberly Olsen, Jeannine O'Brien, Kekoa O'Brien, Tanya Fetters, Ann Kam, Kanani Galuteria, Jennifer Perry, Rick Perry, Nicole Levak, Aaron Krepack & Harrison Krepack. 11 great grandchildren called her Vovo: Sara & Emma Olsen, Bryant, Micah, Tyana & Breanna Fetters, Brandi & Koa Kam, Levi Perry, Joshua Perry-Kruse & Coco Moore. She is also survived by brother James Charles Uyeno of Kaimuki. Please join us for a Celebration of Life at Diamond Head Chapel on May 13th visitation at 9:30 followed by services at 10:30.
