George Akira Nomura, 80, of Kaneohe, a band director at Waipahu High School, Honolulu Symphony Orchestra member and an Air Force veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Patricia S.; daughters Valery Nomura-Ishida, Stacie Kendall and Corine Nomura-Christy; brother Frank; and a grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. Tuesday at Olivet Baptist Church. Services: 6 p.m. Inurnment: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Casual attire.
