ROSEMARY TONGG CHUNROSEMARY TONGG CHUN
Mrs. Rosemary Tongg Chun, 87, left for heaven on April 13, 2013. She was the wife of Dr. K. B. Chun, well known forward thinking and successful dentist of Kailua who predeceased her by 18 years. Mrs. Chun was also the daughter of Richard C. Tongg, notable landscape architect and co-real estate developer with brother Ruddy Tongg during early and mid 20th century Honolulu. She was a student of Teacher's College, a graduate of Roosevelt High School 1942, and Oberlin College 1946. She was born April 23, 1925 in Los Angeles, California while her father finished a project for prominent landowners in Santa Barbara. She returned to Honolulu in 1926 and enjoyed a wonderful childhood, married her college sweetheart, K. B. Chun of Honolulu after World War II and raised 5 children (Rosemary, Thurlow, Mark, Mitchell, Norman). Surviving her are her three remaining sons, Mark, Mitchell, and Norman, all dentists practicing in Kailua, three grandchildren, Courtney, Thurlow Jr. (Thurlow), and Ryan (Norman) Our Mom gave us and our father unconditional love and support through difficult and comfortable times. We will miss her more than dearly. She would wish that you remember her, and we request your presence to visit with our family at Community Church of Honolulu for A Day After Life services on Sunday, May 26, at 3:00 pm. Services will start at 4: 00 pm with special music performances. An early supper will be provided and can be taken home as well. In lieu of flowers, we request donations.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
