Joseph Nicholas Castelli, 86, of Kailua-Kona, a retired GTE Sylvania advanced engineering specialist, Kona town historian and a Navy veteran who served in World War II and the Korean War, died at home. He was born in Boston. He is survived by wife Dawn, sons Michael and Paul, daughters Claire Castelli and Catherine Persello, hanai daughter Mela Kealoha-Lindsey, sister Gloria Muscenti, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Graveside services: noon Tuesday at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, Kailua-Kona. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to St. Michael's Catholic Church Building Fund, 76-5760 Mamalahoa Highway, Holualoa, HI 96725, or to Hospice of Kona. Aloha attire.
