Alfredo Orita, also known as "Fred" and "Papa," 79, of Halaula, Hawaii, a retired Mauna Lani Beach Club cook, retired meat cutter at K. Takata Store and M. Nakahara Store, and a Hawaii Army National Guard veteran, died in North Kohala, Hawaii. He was born in North Kohala. He is survived by companion Rachel Hiraoka; daughters Bobbi Akana, Teresa and Caroline Orita, Valerie Carpio and Debbie Gay Caravalho; stepsons Clinton, Lance and Myles Hiraoka; stepdaughter Darilyn Fuelles; brother Phil; sister Marcelina Campbell; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. All-night vigil: 5 p.m. Friday at his residence, 53-4233 Akona Pule Highway, Kohala, Hawaii. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass: 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire.
