JULIUS (JUKI) REINHARDT FUNG SR. 84, was born on March 6, 1929 in Honolulu and passed away at his home in Des Moines, Iowa on December 12, 2013. Julius retired from the United States Army after serving 24 years of honorable service and also retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Des Moines. He was awarded the following military awards and decorations: The Bronze Star Medal, Two Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 bronze stars, Two Vietnam Service Medals, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, United Nations Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with Palm and the Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Unit Citation w/ Palm and Frame. Julius is survived by his brother, John D. Fung (Sonny) and two sons, Julius Jr. (Jay) and Clarence. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Shu Fung Sr. and Catherine Reinhardt Fung, and brothers Fredrick (Freddy), Harvey (Harry) George and Joseph Jr. all of Honolulu. Internment with military honors will be held at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery in Kaneohe on January 6, 2013 at 10:00 am. No flowers or monetary offerings. Aloha attire is preferred.
