DANIEL EIJI TAKEHARA
8-3 DANIEL EIJI TAKEHARADANIEL EIJI TAKEHARA After living a full life of 92 years, Dan reunited with his wife & one true love, Gladys, on February 8, 2014. Born in Honolulu on January 7, 1922 to Masayo (Mori) and Toranoshin Takehara, Dan grew up in a loving family with brothers Warren (Toko), Toshiro (Alice), Edwin (Amy); sisters, Doris (Charles) and Jane (Tom). Following his service with the MIS unit of the army, Dan met and married Gladys Kimiko Kishinami in August 1949. Dan was president of Investor's Finance, Inc., served on the boards of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, MIS Veteran's Club of HI, and various other civic organizations. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed golfing, travelling, playing his guitar and singing. In 2002, Dan & Gladys unexpectedly moved to Auburn, WA where their daughter resided. Always the life of the party, Dan quickly endeared himself to all those around him and spread his Aloha throughout the community. Above all, Dan cherished his family. Preceded in death by Gladys in 2009 and brothers, Warren and Edwin; Dan is survived by children: Tyler (Yvonne), JoAnn Hendrickson (Stacey); grandchildren Evan Hendrickson (Elise), Kristin Low (Derrick), Kelsey Takehara, Cullen Hendrickson; great granddaughters, Chloe Wahto and Peyton Hendrickson. A memorial celebration for Dan will be held at Mid Pacific Country Club, 266 Ka'elepulu Drive, Kailua, HI 96734 on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11am. Aloha attire.
