RUTH CHUN PANG Ruth Pang, who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and lived here all her life, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2014 at the age of 95. She leaves behind her children Phyllis (Charles) Fernandes, Wilfred (Phimjai) Pang, Rebecca (Ivan) Tamanaha, Randall (Teresa) Pang, and Muriel (Ross) Rasmussen; grandchildren Jeffrey (Tracy) Pang, Bryan Pang, Kevin (Karie) Pang, Jenna Fernandes, David Rasmussen and Jacob Rasmussen; great-grandchildren Travis, Kyle, Kaylee, and Kelsey Pang. Edward W. Y. Pang (Eddie), Ruth's late husband, was formerly the proprietor of Wing Sing Fish Market in Chinatown. Ruth volunteered and participated at the Lanakila Senior Center for over 30 years. She spent many hours at the center teaching Tai Chi and providing translation services. She was an active member of The United Church of Christ on Judd Street and helped out with the church's many outreach programs. An avid gardener, Ruth's great joy was creating the crab claw narcissus flowers for Chinese New Year. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Friday, August 8, 2014 at United Church of Christ located on 467 Judd Street, Honolulu. Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM. Aloha attire. Private burial services.
