Virginia DeCosta Fernandez, 97, of Socorro, N.M., formerly of Hilo, died in Socorro. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by sons John, Leo and Harold; daughter Annie Acierto; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 8 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Honolulu. Mass: 9 a.m. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday at Homelani Memorial Park, Hilo. Casual attire. No flowers.
