George Soji Akemoto, 79, of Honolulu, a Tenrikyo Paradise Church minister, retired carpenter and an Army veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Japan. He is survived by wife Irene; sons Al Y., Byron T., Collin N. and Daniel K.; brother Alfred M; sister Tsugue Nomura; and three grandchildren. Visitation: 11 a.m. Saturday at Diamond Head Mortuary.
