SYLVIA LORETTA (JOBES) TREPTE
$nameSYLVIA LORETTA (JOBES) TREPTE Sylvia Loretta (Jobes) Trepte was born on October 30, 1943 in Waialua, Oahu to parents Emily (Rocha) and Robert Jobes. She attended Saint Michael School, Saint Francis High School and the University of San Diego. She graduated from Chaminade University with a degree in education. Sylvia dedicated her life to teaching in both the public and private sectors. She taught at Cathedral School, Saint Michael School, Iliahi Elementary, and Our Lady of Sorrows. She was one of the founders of Ho'ala School in Wahiawa where she served as both teacher and administrator. Upon retirement, she searched for continued ways to work with kids. She became a substitute teacher at Waialua Elementary and an instructor for PSI Seminars children's courses. When she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012, she elected to participate in the Willed Body Program at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Even after her passing on December 17, she continues her life-long missions to serve and educate. Sylvia and her husband, Paul, have three children and six grandchildren: son Gary (Christa) Trepte and grandson Alec of Sherwood, Oregon; daughter Tiffany (Sean) Eason and grandsons Kyle and Brennan of Waialua, Oahu; daughter Crystal (Stephen) Parry of Seattle, Washington and grandchildren Nina, Ava, and Aiden. Sylvia's surviving siblings are Catherine Lomasney of Arcadia, California and Michael (Laura) Jobes of Kamuela, Hawaii. Her brother, Robert Jobes, preceded her in death. Sylvia always put other people's needs before her own. She saw the greatness in people around her and looked for the positives in all situations. She had a vision for a peaceful world and worked to help realize it in all she did. She was patient, kind, and generous. She was a loving wife, nurturing mother, and devoted grandmother. Her family was everything to her, and we miss her tremendously. Celebration of Life will be held at the Waialua United Church of Christ on March 7, 2015. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Program will begin at 10:45. Lunch to follow. No flowers, please.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
