James Mitsuo Akamine, 77, of Waimanalo, a retired maintenance control superintendent and a veteran of the Hawaii Air National Guard, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Barbara S., sons Bently A. and Grant M., daughters Alison S. Horie and Kelly Anne M. Brown, brother Vincent, sister Muriel Arakaki, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
