FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Dr. Andrew L. “Andy” Morgan
DR. ANDREW L. ANDY MORGAN 95, of Puako, Hawaii passed away at home on September 29, 2015 with family at his side. Andy was born on May 13, 1920 to Dr. James Albert and Elsie Morgan of Nuuanu Valley, Oahu. He was a prominent urologist in Honolulu and throughout the Islands for over 40 years. The Morgan Lounge at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu is dedicated to him and his father. Andy attended Punahou and Iolani Schools and went on to Dartmouth College and Cornell Medical School. He then served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps towards the end of WWII. An avid fisherman and hunter, Andy captained many family trips from Oahu to Hawaii Island in his Haole Sampan, "La'iana". He and his beloved wife of 60 years, Miriam "Mim" Morgan, enjoyed their retirement years beachside, in view of Mauna Kea which held a special place in his heart. Andy is predeceased by his wife and his two brothers, James "Jimmy" Morgan and Brewster Morgan. He is survived by his children Andrew "Chip" (Susan) Morgan of Honolulu, Christine Morgan of Kokoiki, Martha Anne Graham of Olympia, WA and James "J.D." Morgan of Waikoloa; grandchildren Micah, Ben, Duke, Judd and Heather; and great-grandchildren Zeya, Ziggy and Eva. Family and friends will gather at St. Augustine's Church in Kapaau on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, with a reception immediately following. A private scattering of the ashes will be held at another time.
