ALFRED K.F. LEW, D.C. Alfred K.F. Lew, D.C., 82 died on September 8th at his home in Honolulu. He is survived by his ex-wife Evelyn Chong Lew, his daughter Dr. Susan Wynne Piters (husband Dr. Ken Piters) of California, his beloved grand- daughter Noelani Piters of California, brother Edwin Lew of Honolulu, sister Agnes Kuboi of California, and many nieces, nephews, and ohana who were very close to his heart. Al was one of 8 children, all of whom were born and raised in Honolulu. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He went on to attend Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduation, he was a clinical instructor at Lincoln, and opened a private chiropractic practice in Indianapolis. He returned to Honolulu in early 1960, at which time he opened his chiropractic office. After his family, Al's biggest love was for plants-fruit trees, heliconia, hisbiscus-the botanical world was his to explore. He created his own heaven at his farm in Maunawili and friends and family spent many wonderful days enjoying the results of his labors of love. Graveside services will be at Mililani Memorial Park, Mililani, on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 am. A luncheon celebrating his life will be held immediately after.
