FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

DR. KIM WEOL-SOON RUPNOW
Screen Shot 2015-10-19 at 9.44.42 AMDR. KIM WEOL-SOON RUPNOW Age 61 of Kaneohe passed away peacefully on October 16 in Kailua. She was born in Chonbuk, Korea to Dae-Soo and Ye-Soon Kim. She was an Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii the with the Center for Disability studies and directed and completed several projects by the U.S DOE. She helped many students with disabilities and was loved by her colleges who worked with her. Kim was a watercolor artist and an active member of the Hawaii Watercolor Society. She also authored a book about her experiences with cancer that was published in Korea and will soon be translated into English. A loving wife and mother she was an inspiration for all her knew her because of her courage and strength to continue her life in spite of the health issues she faced. She is survived by her husband Robert and children Kenneth and Hana, her siblings Weol- Sun Kim, Yong-II Kim, Youg- Bae Kim, Goan-Sun Kim, Mi-Sun Kim, and mother-in-law Irene Boschuetz and brother- in-law Gary Rupnow. Services will be held October 24 at St Mark church in Kaneohe, visitation 3:30-4:30 pm; 4:30 pm service. Burial at 3:00 pm on October 27 at Greenhaven Memorial Park. Aloha attire, no flowers.
