FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MARY YUK LAN INN
$nameMARY YUK LAN INN May 22, 1922 - October 9, 2015 No one could forget the sparkle in her eyes, her gentle manner and her bright smile. She was the light of our lives and of those who knew her. She loved ... really loved to laugh, gave the greatest hugs, and left us all so many wonderful memories. For her family, Ma, Mom, Popo, Taipo ... was a force of nature, and now she is everywhere: in the sunlight, the wind and rain and the depths of the ocean. Mary Inn passed peacefully into the next world on Friday, October 9, 2015, having made this world a more beautiful and gracious place. Born Mary Yuk Lan Yuen on May 22, 1922, in Canton, China, she attended Sacred Hearts Academy, loved dancing, social life and family. She married husband Peter Inn in 1947 and together they raised five loving children. Mary had a green thumb and was an avid gardener and orchid/anthurium collector until the day she passed. She was fiercely loyal to the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Team and seldom missed a game. She was and will always be the #1 fan of the Wahine. Her extended family members at the Stan Sheriff Center warmly recall her dancing in the aisles as she made her way to her regular courtside seat. You can believe she will never again miss one of their games. As much as she loved her plants and the Wahine, her family always came first. She was tough at times but so loving and generous. She did everything she could in her considerable power to make sure her children, grandchildren and great grandson had everything they needed to thrive. Mary is survived by Janet Zortman, Kenneth, Estelle and Jarrett Inn; Rachel, Juan and Maka Koa Melendez; Steven and Karen Inn; Dorothea Inn; Marjorie and Dennis Francis; Clifford, Jan and Meilehua Inn; Marilani and Kevin Uchima. We all know in our hearts that her beloved grandson Matthew Inn and husband Peter were waiting to greet her when she crossed over into the next world. Friends, relatives and extended family are invited to bid Mary a fond farewell in a tribute to a life well lived, Saturday, October 24th, at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu.
