Patrice McCarthy NagleyPATRICE MCCARTHY NAGLEY Born April 6, 1921 in Boise Idaho, Patrice passed peacefully at her treasured Honolulu hillside home on September 18, 2015 with her family at her side. Her 94 year legacy is illuminated through her brilliant intellect and gracious warmth. After the passing of her beloved husband, Dr. Winfield E. Nagley, former chair of UH Department of Philosophy, she continued extensive correspondence with former students, colleagues and staff around the world. Patrice nurtured friendships from a decade serving as librarian at Ewa Beach and Kaimuki Public Libraries, and stayed in close touch with extended family and community. Patrice was a devoted mother to Erik (Denise Fleming) of Kailua, and Pamela (Sandy) Stevenson of Winlaw, BC, Canada; grand- mother to Bryn Stevenson of Nelson, BC, Canada and Tara Moani (Jamie) Alexander of Port Coquitlam BC, Canada; and great grandmother to Kira Leilani Alexander, also of Port Coquitlam, BC. Patrice's capacity for joy was inspirational. She lived each day with devotion to beauty in nature and reverence for loveliness created by the human heart, hand and mind. Patrice will be remembered on November 7, 2015 beginning with 9 am visitation, followed by 10 am Memorial Service at Parke Chapel on the grounds of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Honolulu. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to support some of Patrice's favorite causes: The Sierra Club Foundation, Doctors without Borders, or NINASH Foundation.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
