GEORGE C.H. SHON November 26, 2015 GEORGE C.H. SHON Age 80, of Mililani passed from this life into eternal life in Heaven on Nov. 26, 2015 , surrounded by his beloved family. George was born in Hakalau, Hawaii, on Feb. 22, 1935 and graduated Hilo High School - Class of 1953 and UH Manoa in 1960. After 29 years of service as a DOE educator, he retired from Castle High School, Windward School for Adults and Punahou Summer School. George was a true lifelong learner and an equally dedicated and passionate teacher. Without question , he was so much more than just an academic teacher. George would definitely receive straight A's for all of the invaluable life lessons and skills that he passed on to countless family members, students , peers and friends which went far beyond mere book knowledge . Survived by his wife of 58 years Katy, sons Garret, Geoffrey (Jennifer) , Gregory, Gifford (Lynne) , Gerard, Galen (Christy), Gordon (Terri), daughter Kimberly Hu (Russell), 18 grandchildren, and sisters Hannah Lee and Eva Shon. He had a zest and love for golf , fishing, diving and traveling . But more than all of those combined , he possessed an even greater love for God first... and for people, especially his beloved family. Now he is home in the loving arms of Jesus, our Savior! A celebration of his life will be held on Fri, Dec. 18 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary, 5:00pm visitation , 6:00pm service. Aloha/casual attire.
