12-15 Richard Teruo Nishioka --RICHARD TERUO NISHIOKA Richard Teruo Nishioka passed away on November 25, 2015. He was born in Honolulu on February 28, 1932. He graduated from McKinley High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Hawaii where he served as Class President, ASUH Senator and was one of two students named as a Real Dean Scholar. After serving in the Korean War as an officer in the United States Army he went on to earn Master's and Doctor's degrees from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He worked in the Educational systems in Michigan and Hawaii and retired after 25 years as Associate Director of Admissions and Records at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, spending time with grandchildren and was an avid walker. He was predeceased by daughter Linnel and is survived by his wife Jeanne of 58 years; Sons Edward (Rae) and Eric; son-in-law Wayne Ogata; grandchildren Sarah and Matthew; Sister-in-law, Claire Sato; Brother, Elvin; Sisters, Linda, Jane Higuchi, Sharon Loo. Services on Friday, December 18 at Hosoi Mortuary, visitation at 9:00 a.m. with services at 10:00 a.m. Aloha attire no flowers.
