Saichi Maeda, 91, of Hilo, a retired elementary school teacher for the state Department of Education and an Army veteran, died in Pohai Malama. He was born in Olaa, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Mitsie, daughters Daphne Dindal and Connie Ichinose, son Stewart and six grandchildren. Visitation: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Services: 5 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
