LEONARD “SHORTY” OLAYAN, JR.
LEONARD SHORTY OLAYAN, JR. Age 84, of Waipahu, HI., passed away Sept. 6, 2016 at home surrounded by family. Born Sept. 3, 1932 in Kaunakakai, Molokai, HI. He was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from 3M sales and Budget Car sales. Preceded in death by son, Gomard Keaupuni Olayan. He is survived by wife, Marlene P. Olayan; sons, Jason Anapuni (Darlene) Olayan, Kaimana Olayan; daughters, Kanoelani Olayan, Alva Nohealani (Ronald) Kaua, Nalani (Eric) Ragasa, Kaena (Lance) Yurong, Katie Rathburn; brothers, Robert (Karen) Olayan, Gilbert (Sandy) Olayan, Joseph (Geri) Olayan, Stanley (Flo) Olayan; sisters, Mercedes Makekau, Linda (Calvin) Mabalo; 20 grand- children, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation 9:00 a.m., Wednesday (Oct. 5) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow 11:00 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
