Larry "Bun" Kaawa 60, of Naalehu, died on September 5, 2016 in Hilo, HI. He was born in Kau, HI. He worked for the County of Hawaii in the Maintenance Department. He is survived by companion, Laura Matsueda; daughters, Leona (Thomas Mochizuki) Matsueda, Lori (John Kaluau) Kaawa, Lacy (Edward) Santos, Lynell (Ryan Kamimura) Kaawa, Leanne Kaawa; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Dave (Ta My) Kaawa, Eric (Kimberly) Kaawa; sisters, Sarah (Matthew) Lazar, Doris Silva, Gail Olsen, Verna Kaawa, Evon Kaawa, Stephanie (Karl) Mento. Visitation 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Naalehu on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Services 10 a.m. Burial at Naalehu Community County Cemetery at 12 noon. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
