BETTY HIDEKO (YOSHIDA) KIDO
BETTY HIDEKO (YOSHIDA) KIDO Age 93, member of the Hawaii Kai United Church of Christ, passed away peacefully at Arcadia Retirement Home, September 25, 2016. Born in Seattle, Washington, graduating from Broadway High School, she lived in Japan during and following WWII. Married in Japan, she sailed to Hawaii to give birth to daughter, Karen. The family then spent 12 years in Seattle, returning to Hawaii in 1967 following the death of her husband, Bert. Betty used her secretarial skills most of her life, working at Bank of Hawaii, Dickson Bell Medical Center, and retired from St. Francis Hospital's medical records department. She then worked part time, retiring a second time from Liholiho Elementary School. Betty is survived by daughter, Karen and son-in-law Craig Yonemoto, granddaughters Jennifer Freitas (Damien) and Denise Chu (Mike), four beautiful great grandchildren and sister, Aiko Uyesugi in Japan. A celebration of Betty's life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation 10:30 and service at 11:30. Reception to follow. Aloha attire.
