DONALD R. BROWN Donald R. Brown, 71, of Kailua passed away on September 19, 2016 while vacationing at his condominium in Keystone, Colorado. Don served 44 years in the U.S. Army Reserves retiring as a CWO5, was a Vietnam veteran and his last assignment was as the Chief Engineer on the SSGT Robert T. Kuroda, a Logistic Support Vessel. He was also a career Civil Servant having worked at numerous U. S. military posts, the Pentagon and retiring from HQ USRPAC at Ft. Shafter, Hawaii. Don had a deep love of the ocean, Hawaiian marine life and sailing, and to that end was a long time member of the Kaneohe Yacht Club serving in numerous position on the Board of Directors to include Commodore. His passion was sailing and cruised all over the world logging over 50,000 nautical miles. He is survived by his loving wife Ruthann Quitiquit; daughter Jennifer Hooley, husband Daniel and five grandchildren of Waimea, Hawaii; Heather Nichols, husband Mike and four grandchildren of Gambrills, Maryland; brother Paul Brown, wife Joan of W. Long Beach, New Jersey; and sister-in-law Sally Brown of The Villages, Florida. Don's life will be celebrated with great joy, laughter, and merriment during his Celebration of Life at the Kaneohe Yacht Club Sunday November 13, 2016 starting at 3PM.
