LITHEIA WONG HALL
LITHEIA WONG HALL 02/01/1920 - 10/11/2016 Litheia Wong Hall passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, October 11, 2016, with family by her side. She was 96. Born in Honolulu, Litheia graduated from Punahou School in 1937, and then attended Mills College in California, followed by the University of Hawaii Manoa. She had two life-long loves: the Honolulu Museum of Art, and tennis. She served as Executive Secretary to 3 Directors of the Museum for 53 years, retiring in 2002. She was known for her commitment to the museum, her work ethic, thoughtfulness to others, and honesty. When not at the museum, she could be found with tennis racquet in hand, often at Waialae Country Club or at the Beretania Tennis Courts. Starting at an early age, Litheia quickly assumed a level of tennis excellence. In the Punahou class of '37, she was captain of the girls tennis team. She then went on to become a champion at the local and national levels. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. Young, and nieces Kathleen Wong Seitz (Kevin), Carol Anne Wong, and faithful dog Moki. There will be a private celebration of her life. Donations in memory of Litheia W. Hall may be made to either: the Hawaiian Humane Society, 2700 Waialae Ave., Honolulu, HI. 96826 or to Kahiau: A Tennis Foundation USTA, 1888 Kalakaua Avenue C309, Honolulu, HI. 96815 Checks should be made out to Kahiau, A Tennis Foundation.
