FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

CHARLES E. “CHUCK” MCCRARY
CHARLES E. Chuck McCrary passed away at Queen's Hospital on July 15, 2017. He was born on July 16, 1935 in Post, Texas, spending most of his young years growing up in Southern California. Chuck is a graduate of UCLA where he was an active member of the Sigma Pi fraternity and Kelps, a Bruin booster organization. He came to Hawaii in 1965 as a project manager with Kaiser Development, overseeing the opening of the Hawaii Kai Golf Course and Recreation Center, now The Oahu Club. In 1967 Chuck joined Inter-Island Resorts as a project manager for the company's neighbor island hotels and golf course expansion. He was also Vice President of their transportation division, which included Grayline Kauai and Islander U Drive. Chuck later formed his own travel marketing companies: Destination Marketing Services and Airline Concierge. Chuck served on the Board of Directors for Grayline International, Skal Club of Hawaii and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii. He was also an active member of the UCLA Alumni Association, Outrigger Canoe Club and Holy Nativity Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann, son Kevin (Laurie), daughter Katie Graf and four grandchildren: Keegan and Megan McCrary, and Kelly and Kailee Graf. Chuck will always be remembered as a happy, fun-loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Services will be held Saturday, August 5th at 4pm, Holy Nativity Church, Aina Haina. Donations may be made in Chuck's memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii or Holy Nativity Church.
