Was born inPoynette, WI on June 29, 1950 and died unexpectedly on March 28, 2017 in Honolulu where she has lived forover 40years.In 1972, Karla toured Africa and her love of the tropics lured her to Hawaii where she embraced the aloha spirit to the hilt. Karla worked at Kaiser Permanente for many years. Her health care career evolved into professional caregiving. Karla's aloha was also felt at Unity Church, Siddha Yoga, the Buddhist Fellowship and with the Dalai Lama and her local meditation group. She was politically active and a well-known supporter of public radio, local food and art events. She was famous for concocting unique combinations of teas, juices & herbal remedies.She will be dearly missed. Karla is survived by her sisters Barbara Jakubowski and Martha Adair.
