FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Rene W Marama
Rene W MaramaAge 60 of Willow City, was born on March 06, 1957 in Papeete, Tahiti. Rene grew up in the beautiful tropical islands of French Polynesia and served in the French military before graduating from Lycee Technical College. He then served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tahiti during 1978-1980. Rene subsequently graduated from Brigham Young University Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Rene was on the island of Oahu when he met Penny Griffin at a bus stop. They have since been married for 28 happy years. Penny and Rene raised their four lovely children in Hawaii before moving to North Dakota 4 years ago. Rene loved the great outdoors with his family - deep sea fishing on his boat Eeke, free diving, surfing, snowboarding, camping, golfing and fishing. He was a free spirit, and loved riding his motorcycle and rebuilding vintage bikes with his sons. Rene was giving, kind and humorous. He was optimistic, hopeful, and ever helpful. He was a doting father, grandfather, and a loving husband. Rene was generous with his time, spending it with family, church, and friends. He had the reputation of being an extremely diligent worker. Rene will be remembered by all who knew him as a fine person of good character and high integrity; and as a man who willingly spent his time in the service of others. Rene is survived by his wife Penny, his daughters Natasha and Nathalie, and his sons Ezra and Nathaniel. A more recent blessing was his grand-daughter Alexandra. Rene is also survived by his brother Gustave Wong of France, his sister Lauette Gorias of Tahiti and his aunt Nathalie and her husband Guy Rochet. Rene passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Williston, ND. He was taken from us suddenly and will be missed by all those whose lives he has touched.
