97, of Honolulu passed away peacefully on July 27, 2017. She was a retired Educator from McKinley High School. She was the Science Teacher of the year in the State of Hawaii. She was the Chinese Model Mother of the Year and only female to become Chinese Citizen of the Year. Survived by husband Vernon K.S. Jim, M.D., daughters: Arlene J. (William) Chang, Gwendolyn J. Wong, Velma K. Jim, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, son-in-law Lambert Chee. Preceded in death by daughter Sandra J. Chee. Visitation Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Service to begin at 11:30 a.m.
