Pai Ma, Chia Wan (Phoebe). It is with great sadness that the family of Chia Wan Ma Pai, announces her passing on Saturday, June 23rd 2018, at the age of 90. She had been living in Honolulu, Hawaii for the last 35 years. Chia Wan was an intelligent and strong person who loved to learn new things constantly with the highest moral standards. She had sense of humor and was great at making conversation and making friends. She worked hard all through her life to ensure that her children would have finer things while she herself led a very simple life. Chia Wan loved her children unconditionally! Chia Wan was also a talented knitter, she enjoyed making beautiful sweaters with her own designs for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. For many years, she was the knitting teacher at the local Senior Center. Chia Wan will be lovingly remembered by her children Gail (Wayne), Robert, Melody, and Amy (Darryl), She will be also fondly remembered by her grandchildren Clara (Angelo), Ellen (Sean), Kelvin, Nicole, Danielle, and Dylan, great grandchildren Jackson, Carter, Chloe, and Kennedy. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 5th at 9:00 a.m. at the Buddhist Temple - 42 Kawananakoa Place, Honolulu, HI 96817. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
