79, of Ewa Beach, Oahu, passed away on July 3, 2018 in Kapolei. Born in Hilo, Hawaii. He retired as a supervisor for The City & County of Honolulu, Department of Wastewater Management and was an avid fisherman. Predeceased by daughter, Darlene Merritt. He is survived by sons Ernest (Barbara) Abaya, Jonathan and Jace Flores, brothers Nemecio "Jr" (Anne) and Daniel (Kathy) Abaya, sisters Dixie "Linda" Kingsolver, Myra (Bill) Louia, and Mary Abaya, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation: 5:00 p.m.; Service: 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel. Ernest will be laid to rest on October 13, 2018 at Alae Cemetery, Hilo. No flowers please. Casual, UH or sports attire.
