FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Barbara Sachiko (Tajiri) Leong
Barbara Sachiko (Tajiri) Leong81, of Pearl City, was born in Honolulu on December 16, 1937 and passed away on February 1, 2019. She worked at the Hawaii State Capitol and retired as an administrative assistant for the House Sergeant At Arms Office. Barbara loved her work at the Capitol. She loved the activity there: politics, personalities, and issues. She was loyal to her bosses and co-workers. Her goal was to do the most efficient job possible while respecting the feelings and concerns of others. When she received a work related call at home, we could hear her speak with a voice that was enthusiastic and vibrant. She loved her job! While working at the box office of the old Palace Theater in Moiliili, an artist noticed her and asked to paint her portrait. Her portrait was displayed at the Academy of Arts, circa 1960, for several weeks. Barbara loved to read and usually carried a book with her. Her reading, we think gave her an understanding, tolerance, and caring for others. The knowledge she gained from reading made socializing easy and enjoyable for all around her. Barbara was a loving and dedicated wife. She did everything in order for her husband to succeed, including raising the children, working full time and doing all the household work. She loved her children. Just ask - and mom was there. She loved and cared for her grandchildren - they were her treasure. Nothing was too much to ask from her. She would sacrifice for the happiness of others. She never actually scolded her children or grandchildren, yet they listened to and respected her. We think she was Wife, Mother, and Grandmother of the Year - every year. Barbara was a beautiful person in every way. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Raymond and Helen Tajiri; son Aaron Leong and two younger brothers, Ronald and Norman Tajiri. Her husband, two children, and four grandchildren survive her. Private services were held on Valentine's Day 2019. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
