Mabel Takako Fukuda Araki, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2019 at Kaiser Hospital, with her family by her side. She was 79. Mabel was born in Honalo, Hawaii to John and Setsu Fukuda. She was a proud graduate of Konawaena High School class of 1957. Where she made many lifetime friends. Mabel was a homemaker for most of her life raising her four children. She owned and operated a plant shop called "The Thoughtfulness Shop" in Manoa Valley prior to working as a secretary at the Institute for Astronomy. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Paul Tsuyoshi Araki; sons Michael (Hazel) and Leslie (Beth) Araki; daughters Robin (Alan) Nakagawa and Jill (Ron) Oleyer; 15 grandchildren; sisters Helen (Michio) Oyakawa and JoAnn (Ken) Takahara. Celebration of life will be held on April 15, 2019 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary; visitation 5 p.m.; service at 6 p.m. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
