FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

PATRICK HAROLD CHUN
PATRICK HAROLD CHUNOur loving Dad, Patrick Harold Chun, passed away on February 22, 2019, at the age of 76, surrounded by family at home. He was an accomplished financial consultant for 35 years at Smith Barney where he advised many friends and family about everything and anything, from finances to life in general. With his infectious spirit and zest for life, he had a knack for making people laugh and feel comfortable. He continued to explore new ideas and to grow and share whatever he learned with as many people who would listen. He was unbelievably strong in body and spirit. And despite battling cancer for many years, incredibly, he always managed to live life to the fullest. He loved to paddle one man canoe and walk daily at Kailua beach. Dad enjoyed golf, tennis and skiing with his many friends. He also enjoyed traveling to the "ninth island" with his lifelong Maryknoll classmates, laughing and loving every minute of craziness. And the twinkle in his eyes - his grandkids. He tickled and tackled, scolded and teased his way into their hearts. He admired their accomplishments and made sure they knew his ideas on being the best human they can be. Dad was a supportive and loving husband to our Mom and wife of 53 years. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Claire, son: Dr. Keola (Shari), daughters: Kanoe (Kim) Reece, Kaleo(Blaine) Kia, Ku'ulei (Brandon) Kam; 8 grandchildren: Kilohi, Kaulana & Kana'i Chun, 'Opua, Mahie & Kikau Kia, Kia'i & Kala'iku Kam. He is also survived by 7 brothers: Michael E. of Hilo, Christopher, Dominic, Matthew, Dennis, Harold Jr., and Julius. We take personal pride in Dad's decision to donate his body to John A. Burns School of Medicine. Even after death, Dad continues to be a "teacher." We are better because we knew him. Private services were held.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
