Katherine McCauley was born November 30, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas & passed away March 16, 2019 in Honolulu. She lived in San Antonio, TX where she met her life partner James in High School. Upon graduating, Katherine was employed as a civilian employee at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, 1 of only 3 women in a Department that repaired Radio' s during WWII. Katherine & James married in 1947. James' established career was in the Armed Forces. Katherine enrolled in Nursing School, graduating tops in her class. She loved Nursing, specializing in Pediatrics for private Physicians during the course of her career. James' career in the Military first brought them to Hawaii in 1967. Upon their return in 1983, Katherine was employed at TAMC & when approaching retirement opted to work part-time at HMG as a Float Nurse in a variety of specialties. Katherine retired at the age of 75. Once retired, she compiled 24 Photo Albums of the family & extended family, to include several Wedding Anniversary trips. She was a devoted wife of 71 years & is survived by 2 children, 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on April 16th, with burial at 2:00 p.m. alongside her husband at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
