61, of Menlo Park, California, formerly of Honolulu, passed away on March 21st in City of Hope Hospital, Los Angeles. Brian was born March 15th, 1958, in Wakefield, Rhode Island, the second son of Bernard and the late Sadie LaPorte, The family moved to Hawaii when Brian was one year old. Brian was a 1976 graduate of Iolani School. He then obtained his BS degree from Princeton University and his MS degree from Stanford University, both in Mechanical Engineering. He worked many years in the computer industry during the dot.com era. Brian was an avid golfer and tennis player, and also coached youth athletic leagues in the Menlo Park area. He is survived by his wife Carole, daughter Erin, son Danny, father Bernard, brothers Michael and Bruce, sister in law Cyndy and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A private service was held in Honolulu on April 20th.
