FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Candace Kanoelani Yoshida
Candace Kanoelani Yoshida"Candy", 65, was tragically taken from us on March 14, 2019. She was born in Honolulu on May 27, 1953. She was a retired operations manager at the Kahala Hilton. Candace was very active and enjoyed playing tennis for thirty plus years and recently acquired a love for playing piko ball, spending most of her time playing at Fort Derussy Beach Park. She was known for her competitive nature on the court and being the loudest in the stands while cheering on her sons at their games. Our mother had a contagious smile and made friends wherever she went with her welcoming presence and exuberant personality. Candace was a strong woman and put her all into everything she was involved in. She was excited to spend her golden years in Waikiki, enjoying the everyday excitement that Waikiki had to offer. She was always the life of the party, dancing the night away and having a good time. She loved a glass of red wine or two. Candace also loved picking puakenikeni in her backyard and made the most beautiful lei for her loved ones and friends. Candace loved spending time with her grandchildren, Keahi Jordan, Kainani, and Kashden Kahiau, spoiling them every chance she could as any grandmother would. They were her world. She is survived by her children, Kainoa & Keanu Yoshida and Alvina & Bernard Apo; brother, Raymond Yuen; half siblings, Danielle Park, Stanley Yuen, Daniel Yuen, Sherryann van Alst, Davina Beltran, Melvin Nunuha and David Nunuha; former husband, Dennis Yoshida; good friends, John Cervantez, Grant Moniz and Greg Gouveia and all of her tennis friends, piko ball friends and neighborhood friends. "Candy" was so full of life and was taken way too soon. She will be missed. Candace's celebration of life will be held at Shriners Beach Club in Waimanalo April 27th, 10-5pm.
