LOLA GEBAUER
LOLA GEBAUER 98, of Honolulu and Haiku, Maui, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 2, 2020. She was under the care of Hospice Maui. Lola was born July 4, 1921 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Gebauer M.D. and seven siblings. She is survived by sons Paul Gebauer and John Gebauer (Brenda) and daughters, Susan Brown (Frank Hollister) and Penelope Gebauer. Grandchildren Keoki Brown (Melissa), Elise Brown, Whitney Brown (Jon Apo), Liza (Edward Maus), Sherri (Matias Rodriguez), Johnathan Gebauer and 6 great-grandchildren. Lola and Paul moved to Honolulu from Cleveland, Ohio in June of 1946 as Paul was a thoracic surgeon at Leahi Hospital. Lola was a very strong and active woman who LOVED life and had an enduring effect on her many friendships because of her kind, affable nature. Lola was a realtor for over 50 years with Vi Dolman Associates and Coldwell Banker Island Properties. She was an avid golfer for over 60 years and played in tournaments all over Oahu. She was a member of the Waialae Country Club Bridge Club for many years and played in tournaments in Honolulu. After moving to Maui 3 years ago, Lola quickly adapted to Maui life style, making new friends, learning to drive the curvy roads in Haiku to Paia as she was especially fond of weekly exercise classes at Kaunoa Senior Citizen Center. She also looked forward to bridge on Fridays with the Pukalani Bridge Group. With a history of top finishes in numerous women's golf tournaments while living on Oahu, she occasionally hit balls at the driving range in Pukalani. A Celebration of Life will be planned for sometime in the future. Aloha Mom, A Hui Hou! WE LOVE YOU!
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
