December 28, 1942 to April 3, 2020 LaVerne "Tootsie" (77) passed away peacefully in her Kailua home on April 3 after a battle with ALS. She was born in Hawaii on December 28, 1942 and grew up in Kaimuki surrounded by her many cousins. She graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy in 1960. Tootsie is a beloved wife to Hal Fitchett and mother to Desiree (Darryl), David (Kathy), Danny (Maxine) and Damon (Jennifer), stepmother to Christian (Janice), Lori and Kimberly (Jeremy) and a cherished grandmother to Alana, Maree, Alyse, Dane, Kamuela, Mehana, Caitlan, Makayla, Dylan, Bradley, Danny, Hope, Jacob, Madison, Isabelle, Liam and Hallie. She is also survived by her sister, Lorene Clark, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and pets. Tootsie was known for her kindness and for the compassionate way she cared for all creatures great and small. She deeply valued her relationships with family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. The Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
