He was a State Supreme Court clerk, a Deputy County Attorney, a Deputy Attorney General and a Legal Aid lawyer. He was a partner in Cook, Choi, Yuda and in Case and Lynch. Finally, he served as a district court judge for 10 years.
Jeff was a Lehua Jaycee. He served on the Hawaii County Police Commission and on the board of two charitable trusts. He cooked for Peanut Butter Ministry.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, diving and ranching. He loved Hawaiian music and having friends over to eat his good kaukau and play guitars.
Jeff is survived by his wife Kathleen, son Rodney Mark (Kris) Choi, daughter Beth (Dan) Hebert, grandsons Jeffrey and Nick (Nathalie) Hebert and Mark (Wendy) Choi, granddaughters Kelly (J. D.) Bazzo and Grace Hebert (Tim Schlumberger), great- grandson Connor Choi and a great-granddaughter on the way.
