FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Ronald H. Nagata
80, passed away on September 22, 2020 at his daughter's Honolulu home. He was born in 1940 in Kona and grew up in the sugarcane fields and gulches of Ninole. He attended John M. Ross Elementary School and Laupahoehoe High School ('58). He continued his education at the University of Hawaii Manoa and Hilo and Kansas State University where he attained multiple Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture and Engineering.

He was a successful architect and sole proprietor of his own firm in Hilo for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, golfing, watching cowboy movies, traveling and having coffee with his friends.

Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene (Morita), son Dr. Robb Nagata (Kelly), daughters Dr. Rene'e Nagata and Rochelle Nagata-Wu (Jesse Wu), and grandchildren Reina Nagata, Ryan Nagata, Raiden Nagata, Kayle Kodama, Ashley Kodama, Aiden Wu and Ellery Wu. He is survived by brothers Raymond, Larry and Harvey Nagata.

Known as Ronnie, Ron, Dad and Grampy, he was truly loved and appreciated by his family and blessed by wonderful friends.

Private services were held. The family (and Ron himself) request no monetary gifts (koden).

Thank you for those who knew him and were a part of his life. We will miss you Dad.
