72Born in Honolulu on July 8, 1961, Jon attended Kaimuki High School. After graduating in 1979, he attended Honolulu Community College and received a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
Jon went on to work as an aircraft mechanic at United Airlines for 35 years. Jon and his co-workers enjoyed a close friendship, sharing so many interesting and funny experiences. Travel was in his blood, as he and his family frequented Japan and many inter-island and mainland destinations.
One of Jon's favorite activities was going hunting twice a year with his buddies. They would bring back their catch, have barbecues, and talk story about their adventures.
Jon treasured his family. He is survived by his wife Dale; sons Jonathan Fujimoto and Kevin (Patricia) Tanaka; mother Daisy; brother Jay (Gwen); sisters Jo Ann Fujimoto and Jade (Russell) Yasaka; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father James T. and brother James K. Private services to be held.
