Lifelong Hawai`i resident, Raymond Kazuto Shimamoto peacefully passed away in his home, surrounded by family on March 3, 2021, at the young age of 83.Raymond - "Kaz" to his close friends and family - was born in Kawaihau, Kaua`i on January 26, 1938. He founded Raymond's Painting Co., Inc. in 1968 and successfully ran this local family business until his recent retirement. He was an accomplished bowler who traveled to Reno and Las Vegas frequently for team competitions. Kaz also enjoyed fishing and being near the ocean.
Kaz was a dedicated family man who will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Naomi Shimamoto, and his children Joy Chong, Rodd Shimamoto, Robby Shimamoto, son-in-law Bradley Chong, and sister Janet Chong.
A drive-thru visitation will be held at Hosoi Mortuary on April 18, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Entry into the drive-thru will be via North Kukui Street. No flowers please.
