76, of Honolulu, passed away February 19, 2021, with family by his side.Steve graduated from St. Louis School '62 and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii. He was a Captain in the US Army and then a Major in the US Army Reserve. After he retired from the military, he had a second career as a US Immigration Inspector.
Steve was grateful to God for an enjoyable and wonderful life. He touched the lives of many with his outgoing personality, gift of gab, and kind-hearted soul. He enjoyed a carefree, simple lifestyle without regrets and did whatever his heart desired. Steve lived and travelled many places in the Far East, Europe, and the Mainland. As an avid golfer, he even had a hole-in-one shot.
Stephen is survived by his brother Neal (Gerri) Kabei; nephews Nathan (Taryn) Kabei, Kyle (Suh Hee) Kabei, Ivan Kabei; grandnieces and grandnephew. Predeceased by parents Shigeru and Evelyn Kabei and sister Karen Kabei.
