Walter Shigemi Morimoto
Walter Shigemi MorimotoOn March 15, 2021, Walter Shigemi Morimoto, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to Jesus at the age of 84.

Walter was born in Lahaina, Maui and was raised in Honalo, Hawaii where he graduated from Konawaena High School. After serving in the US Army, Walter attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and studied ornamental horticulture. After working in the Bay area, Walter returned to Hawaii. He settled in Honolulu and met his wife Ki Suk. They have two daughters. He built a lifelong career in Landscaping and has left his fingerprint all over the island especially in Hawaii Kai and Waikele.

After being a devoted member of Hawaii Kai Baptist Church, Walter found his passion for serving the Lord while attending New Hope Hawaii Kai for the last 20 years. Through various ministries, Walter served as a levite, usher, door greeter, and even an uncle at Children's Ark. He was best known for his warm greetings and welcoming hugs.

Walter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ki Suk; daughters Michelle (Andrew) & Marianne (Hoku) Pedro; grandchildren, Kilinahe & Malie; and sister Evelyn.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Visitation to begin at 9 am with service and burial to follow.
