81, of Makakilo, Hawaii, passed away on March 1, 2021. Alvin was born in Honolulu and a retiree of the Operator's Engineering Union, Local 3. He is survived by sons Alvin Kaohu Nishimura (Rotina), La'a Velardo (Ami), Dean Kapena (Janie), Hekili Kaohu, caregivers Kea & Butch Motas. Survived by grandchildren Kahea, Kekai, Anuhea, Samee, Heather, Lauryn, Micah, Rain, Xander, Lilinoe, Ikaika & Kaleo; 9 great- grandchildren. Also survived by sister Aileen "Rocky" Gaza, sister-in-law Dale Uilani Villa; Step-daughters Autumn Glover, Destryee Jachinto & step-son Dawe Glover. Preceded in death by wife Rosalei, daughter Debbie Kaohu-Kanekoa, brothers Freeman & Arthur Allen, Vernon Villa & Walter (Pancho) Kaohu.There will be an "Ohana" gathering for Mr. Kaohu at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park (enter Waikiki side of park) on May 4, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Burial at sea for family members to follow immediately after gathering. Please for safety of yourself and others, wearing of masks and social distancing is required.
