FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Henry Jacob Trautwein, Jr.
Henry Jacob Trautwein, Jr.Henry J. Trautwein, Jr., Maj. USMC Ret. born on Christmas day, went to heaven Good Friday night, April 11, 2020. He was the recipient of two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, with a Combat V for Valor, and three Purple Hearts, among many other awards. He enlisted in the USMC in 1958, finished his enlistment and entered St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas while also working construction. Upon completing his degree, Hank reentered the Marine Corps, completed Officers Candidate School and served two tours in Viet Nam where he earned the many medals. He also earned the honor and respect of those who he commanded. He earned his MBA during his Marine Corps career. Due to his combat injuries he was medically retired in 1980. He then served as a director of housing at MCBH Kaneohe Bay where he retired in 1994. He was very devoted to the Corps, God and Church, and his family. His code of honor and high morals never wavered. He is survived by his loving wife Rosella, his two sons, Paul (Molly) and David (Christy) Trautwein, daughter Kathryn Mims (James) and brother William (Mary). His oldest son, Henry J. Trautwein III met him in heaven. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will remain in our hearts always. Military Honors and rites at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe, on 4/28 at 11:00. No flowers or koden please.
