ROGER KANEHOA WAIALAE
ROGER KANEHOA WAIALAEAge 79, lived a full life from his birth in Kalihi, Hawaii to his death on February 1, 2021 in California. Roger was a beautifully gifted musician with an ethereal voice. As magnificent as he was an entertainer, he was an even brighter presence to his family and friends. Roger was a wise, loving, and peaceful man who embodied the "Aloha Spirit" - Akahai (kindness), Lokahi (unity), 'Olu'olu (agreeable), Ha'aha'a (humility), and Ahonui (patience). These are traits of character that express the charm, warmth, and sincerity of Hawaii's people. Roger is survived by his wife, Martha (Bodway) Waialae; son, Roger Kanehoa Clement Waialae (Karen); daughter, Rogena Alohalani Waialae-Wightman (Steve); grand- children, Ryan (Catrina), Tiana, Laura, Seth, Kayla, Carli (Sajad), Sandis, and Riley; great-grand- children, Ashely, Dreya, Samantha, John, Kenzie, and Luke; and sisters, Arviella, Roberta, Dianah (Carl), and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah (Akau) and Joseph Waialae; brothers, Joseph, Gerald, George, and Nelson; and sisters, Bethsiene, Genevieve, and Ethel Mae.
