Gail Ortiz Nakamatsu, 81, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on March 27th at Straub Hospital with family at her side. Gail attended Roosevelt High School and held positions at Title Guaranty, Matson, Fawcett McDermott Cavanaugh and Bank of Hawaii. She retired to be a homemaker and moved with her family to California on two occasions and also lived in Tokyo, Japan. Gail loved gardening, cooking, shopping and travelling. Gail enjoyed visiting several countries in Asia and also travelled to many cities throughout the mainland. Gail was predeceased by her parents Ruben Ortiz and Lillian Evenson and brother Eugene. She is survived by her husband Gary Y. Nakamatsu, son Greg Nakamatsu, daughter Gaylynn Nakamatsu and granddaughter Gabbie Gonzales. Gail was a devoted and loving wife, mother and tutu. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know and love her. Services were held at Nuuanu Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation or the Hawaii Heart Association
