79, passed away on May 13, 2021 from cancer. He was born on June 14, 1941 in Manhattan, New York but grew up in Pearl River, New York, with his parents and sister, Mary. He was called Jerry by everyone who knew him. Jerry traveled into the city to attend high school and then entered the U.S. Naval Academy. After graduation, he served as an officer on a minesweeper, but then accepted the challenge of serving in the submarine service. He retired as a Commander after 21 years of service. He earned an MBA degree in business from the University of Hawaii and then had a 20 year career as a Financial Advisor with First Command Financial Services before retiring. Jerry met his wife Kathi in 1971 while stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii where she was attending graduate school at the University of Hawaii where she obtained a master's degree in social work. They married in 1972 and had one child, Jenie. During their 48 year marriage, they traveled the world and enjoyed going to restaurants, concerts, and movies together.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kreinik and his daughter, Jennifer Reppenhagen and her husband Jason, his loving dog, Toffee, his parakeets, Anela and Hoku, and 2 tropical fish. Both Jerry and Kathi love animals and they have been an important of their lives.
Jerry will be remembered by those who knew him as intelligent, caring, friendly, and helpful to others. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
He requested that there be no funeral or memorial service.
